First Graders Enjoy Virtual Field Trips with National Parks

First graders watch a virtual field trip.

First graders explore the National Parks virtually.

Suamico First grade students visited Hawaii virtually through a Facetime meeting. A ranger named Chad taught the students about volcanoes and showed the students pictures of volcanoes erupting. There are five volcanoes that erupt often. The volcanoes can be 2,000 degrees fahrenheit. Volcanoes look like mountains. The Ring of Fire is located in the Pacific Ocean and is near Hawaii. They also learned that the Hawaiian alphabet has 13 characters. Hawaii became a state in 1959. There are palm trees there and there are over a million people that live there. There are eight main islands. Maui and Kawaii are popular places to visit. Next, the students will go on a virtual field trip to Yellowstone National Park.
